Hello hello! My name is Freya and I was a neuroscience (neurobiology emphasis) and biochemistry minor here at the UofA that was involved in research with the NET Lab, Sonoran UCEDD Developmental Disabilities certificate, and summer internships. I also was and still am a CAPS Peer Counselor, as well as an inaugural member of the International Chief Science Officer Alumni Board. In undergrad, I participated in NSCSAS, the NSCS Ambassadors, and the Banner Patient Experience Internship. Since graduating, I have been completing my MS1 year with the College of Medicine - Tucson, and hope to become an Arizona pediatrician, and eventually a pediatric oncologist or pediatric immunologist. Feel free to reach out with any questions about undergraduate research or any pre-medicine related questions!

Since graduating in May 2023, I have worked as an emergency department technician at Valleywise Health Medical Center and as a private chess tutor (open game for any takers). I aspire to become a physician scientist and am currently applying to MD/PhD and MD programs. Please reach out with any questions about: any aforementioned NSCS organizations, general pre-med advice, University of Arizona EMS, Gothard Neuroscience Lab, College of Science Ambassadors, and minors in Spanish, EMS, or Biochemistry.

Hi everyone! I’m Surya Fitzgerald, former NSCSAS secretary, and I graduated in 2023 with degrees in Neuroscience and Hispanic Linguistics. My hobbies include painting, drawing, playing piano, and exercising. While at the UofA I was not only involved in NSCSAS, but also was a part of the NET (Neuroscience of Emotion and Thought) lab at the UofA where I wrote a thesis on creativity and divergent thinking. Since graduating, I have spent time teaching English in Spain and traveling throughout parts of Europe and Asia. Having recently come back to the US, I am now job searching and considering graduate programs. I’d love to talk to any of you! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if any of what I said resonates with you:)

Mackenzie Lynch
macklynch04@gmail.com
Hi everyone! My name is Mackenzie and I graduated from the NSCS program in Spring 2026. I am a former President, Secretary, and intern of NSCSAS, so it's safe to say my time in the club was one of the most valuable experiences I had in college. Post graduation, I decided to take a gap year and work in my research lab before applying to Ph.D programs. While I spend most of my time fighting with monkeys or yelling at my MATLAB code, I am grateful to be travelling to multiple conferences this fall to present my research. In my (little) spare time, I enjoy running, binging reality TV, and hanging out with my cat. Feel free to ask me about anything! NSCSAS gave me so much and I am always willing to help anyone who is a part of this amazing club.

Hi everyone! My name is Alanis Dilic and I graduated from the UofA with a Bachelor's in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science (Neuroscience emphasis, Neurobiology focus) and a minor in Biochemistry in Spring 2024. NSCSAS was the heart of my undergraduate experience—not only did it enable professional and outreach opportunities and networking, but it also led to some of the best friendships, experiences, and professional relationships that I'll always be grateful for. Currently, I'm a Class of 2028 PharmD candidate at the UofA College of Pharmacy in Tucson and have a significant interest in emergency medicine pharmacy as well as acute care pharmacy and toxicology. Please feel free to reach out with any questions about NSCS or pharmacy; very excited to meet you all!
